Baskerville theme not in date order
-
I have the Baskerville theme, which shows posts newest to oldest. But when I change the dates of the posts, the order stays the same and they won’t move around?
-
Hm, I’m not seeing how that could be, very odd.
Just so we’re on the same page, would you please clarify which 3 posts you want first, in the order you want them?

The posts have the dates at the bottom but they aren’t in order. I did try it in a standard TwentyTwenty theme and they showed correctly
Top to bottom it’s supposed to be:
A reflection: shadowing a midwife
All change please
Getting personal
Hypnobirthing changed my life
Gotta get that experience
Applying all over again
Making a big changeOr does it show the posts in a zigzag pattern? That would be super weird

Thanks. I can see what you mean now.
It would make sense for the
Making a big changepost to be at the top of the list since it serves as an intro to the site. What do you think about making that a sticky or featured post so it’s always displayed first?Your posts are displaying as expected though. This is how the theme works. Looking at the site demo https://wordpress.com/theme/baskerville-2 you’ll see that those post dates are also not displayed based on publication date.
Adjusting the publication date from the post settings could get them in your desired display order. That might take a while since it’s going to be a trial and error process. There’s also some information on post display options here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/show-your-posts-in-chronological-order/
Further customization can happen through this shortcode.
Another option would be to use a theme that displays posts in a more linear fashion. As you mentioned they were displaying in the desired order with that option.
Write back with more questions.

Thanks for your help! My posts need to be chronological so perhaps this isn’t the best theme for me
