Best practice for title attribute of links
-
Hello, when I create a link you provide a title attribute box. I’ve heard mixed reviews on whether this is SEO friendly or not. Apparently we should not use the title attribute unless it provides a needed description of the content. I’ve noticed big kahuna bloggers like CopyBlogger do not include the title attribute on links. What’s your recommendation?

Hi Lon,
I don’t really have too much knowledge on SEO, but after talking to a few coworkers, they recommended that the title attribute for links can be helpful if not for at least accessibility purposes. In the end I’m more of the point-of-view that the content will speak for itself, but definitely doing things like this is helpful.
Another one of my colleagues – Elizabeth – wrote a great piece on SEO that you may find helpful as well. Feel free to take a look here:
Cheers!

Thank you. And just to be sure, you’re talking about the title attribute, not the alt text, right?
