  I plan to purchase the premium plan. The way I understood it, I will be charged a month before my subscription ends. Meaning, if I purchased it today, I will be charged next year, October, 2017? So you won’t deduct anything to my account today? Thanks.

  That is incorrect.

  You will be charged today for one year of WordPress.com Premium (11/16-11/17). Next October, the system will renew the subscription 30 days prior to your initial payment date. That payment will be for the next year (11/17-11/18) of WordPress.com Premium.
