BIU tab is missing?

  Hi, in my block edit or the usual bar with Bold Italic Underline etc. is missing? Can someone please help me get it back?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  You’ll only see those options if you’re busy working in a block that gives those formatting options, like a paragraph or a list block. Heading blocks, for example, won’t show all those options.

  These options should appear in a little floating toolbar directly above the block, after you click inside the specific block:

  Paragraph Block

  If you don’t see that at all when you click inside a block, can you take a screen shot of what you see? Upload that to your media library at My Site ->Site ->Media, and we’ll be able to see it there.

  Thank you! I uploaded the image.

  I’ve now figured out that it works on the WordPress website, but not on the app on my computer. The screenshot was taken in the app.

  Ok. Try deleting the app and reinstalling it. That should pull in the most recent version. The current OS versions are 10.9.+

  is there a location in the app where I can check the version? just wanted to make sure it updated

  Hi there,

  To clarify, the most recent desktop version of the app is 4.7. You can check the version of the app by going to WordPress.com > About WordPress.com:

  

  Your Mac OS must be 10.9+ in order to install the app.

  I redownloaded it and it says version 4.7. However the bar is still missing? It’s working on the website though.

  Okay, this a bug with the block editor itself that affects the app and certain browsers. The issue has already been fixed in the block editor, and should be fixed in the app once we release version 5.0.0 (currently in beta-testing)

  As a temporary workaround, click the … icon top-right when you’re in the editor, and enable the Top Toolbar option. That will make the toolbar appear at the top of the editor itself, rather than at the top of individual blocks.
