Black directional boxes improperly appearing on pages that have galleries

  In Media Galleries, black directional squares appear on random pages when I click on an image. At the bottom of these pages, there is a statement: Comments are Closed. And the media ID tag looks different too when I look at the URL at the top. Here is an example of one of my gallery pages. Click on pictures to see the black boxes appearing.

  These same boxes appear properly on posts, and direct people from post to post. But, they are also appearing within the galleries on gallery pages. Anyone know why, or how to fix this?
