Blocco theme for website

  Hello, I want to use the blocco theme for a static website, with a maximum of 9 images, each of which goes to a text page when you click it. I probably want to have some text on each of the images too. Will this work?

  Hi there,

  The Blocco theme was designed for blogging, so only blog posts (not pages) are displayed as image blocks on the front page. The title of each blog post appears when you hover over the image. Static pages on your site are displayed in the site menu. You can see how this looks on the Blocco demo site.

  If you are willing to use blog posts for each of the pages on your site, the setup you describe may work.

  Me again…I’ve just gone to the Blocco forum page, using the link above, and can see lots of discussion threads, but can’t see how I can start a new one. There is a footer which says ‘New Discussion Topic on This Forum” (or something like that) but nothing to click on.

  What am I missing :(

  Sorry for the confusion! You can only post in the Blocco support forum after you purchase the Blocco theme. As I mentioned earlier, you are welcome to purchase the theme and try it out, and if it doesn’t meet your needs you can get a full refund within 30 days of purchase.

  Thanks again rachelmcr. Is there anyway of telling from your themes page, which themes lend themselves more to websites rather than blogs?

  Many of the themes here at WordPress.com are flexible enough to be used comfortable for either a website or a blog, but what you choose depends a lot on the kind of website you want to create. You may want to start by taking a look at these sections of our Learn WordPress.com tutorial:

  Get Personality
  Get a Home Page

  You can also search the themes by keyword under Appearance > Themes in your dashboard. For example, if you would like a business website you can search for “business” and get a selection of recommended business themes.

  You could even use the Blocco theme and give it the look you want by inserting image links on your home page and linking them to the other pages on your site. I hope these ideas give you somewhere to start! :)
