  Is there anyway for a simple person like me with a simple blog to just go back to the simple ‘classic’ format? I used to enjoy posting to my blog but now just thinking about logging on to wordpress gives me angst. It is NOT intuitive, not streamlined, things appear and disappear which is distracting, I can’t find basic functions which are buried under ill-defined menus that require several steps, and worst of all, I DO NOT ENJOY posting anymore. I tried to download a plug-in and wordpress tells me I need to upgrade my account to install it? Is that true?

  You can try using the Classic Block instead. It looks and behaves just like the Classic Editor:
