Block Editor. – Obscure, confusing and no simple association for tools.
-
Okay, I’m open to new things, but the Block Editor is a nightmare. It is unclear, the block naming conventions are not clear or logical. I am used to the classical editor. simple straight forward and all tools were at hand. This new block editor is very unclear, lacks any cohesion or names of tools that make simple sense. I am sure it. will add new options in time but for now it is a nightmare. Worst, when I go into edit a post, it always reverts to block editor and seems to loose content I had created, especially media. Talk about screwed up. You do realize that much of your user base is not into complex publishing. I had been planning to go to a paid plan, but have put it off because of this forced switch. I’ll keep trying to sort it out, but you need to get some people working on it with ‘real people’ interface knowledge. Remember the KISS concept. Keep It Simple Stupid. Stop hiding tools/features under layers of obscure names. Make sure that media is instantly available at all times. You have to fix the interface so an average person with only minimal knowledge can figure it out. And here I was going to pay for my blog, now I’m thinking it over.

You can very easy switch back to the classic editor. Go to https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-editor/#faq and scroll down to Will I still be able to use the old editor?

I have had problems trying to switch back to the classic editor. I’ll keep working on that. But really, the new editor is NOT intuitive. It needs some serious interface work and the word language is vague. Hopefully they will improve it. I can see its value in the long term but for now it is a real pain for me.
