Blog adress mishap! Help me out please!
-
Hey!
I recently created a dual language blog (by actually having 2 blogs, one in english (mariachiclimbingen.wordpress) which had content in it, and one in spanish (mariachiclimbinges.wordpress) which didn’t have any content in it). In order for this to work, I had been using a third blog adress (mariachiclimbing.wordpress) as a welcome page, which was static and showed buttons to choose a language, which in turn redirected the users to the english site or the spanish site.
However, I realised this was a stupid idea, and decided that it was better to have one bilingual blog instead of 3 confusing ones. I decided that the blog which already had content was going to be used as the main blog, and that the adress mariachiclimbing.wordpress was going to be the actual adress.
So, the first thing I did was change the adress of the “welcome” (mariachiclimbing.wordpress) blog to a random adress, in order to release the original one (so I could use it for my new blingual blog), but when I did this, a new empty blog appeared, using the adress mariachclimbing.wordpress . So, I changed this new blog’s adress to another random adress, but when doing so, I clicked the option “Yes, please permanently disable mariachiclimbing.wordpress.com” (because I thought this would prevent the algorithm from creating another empty site with this adress).
Now, when I try to change the name of the blog with actual content (mariachiclimbingen.wordpress) to mariachiclimbing.wordpress, the page tells me that site already exists (even though that when I try to look it up, wordpress tells me tge site has been deleted by its user):
What can I do?

Howdy,
I’m afraid there’s not much we can do, since that blog has been permanently deleted.
Your best bet at this point would be to simply register the blog address you want to use, and continue with that.
Keep in mind that you can always register a custom domain name (like example.com) and map it to any WordPress.com blog. The names don’t have to match.
You can do so under Store -> Domains in your new blog’s dashboard.

Ok, if I did register the domain, would I be able to control the costumization of the blog (HTML and CSS wise)??

HTML can’t be directly effected on a WordPress.com blog, but you can modify the CSS with a Custom Design upgrade.
