  Would like to set up blog background (3), and design site. Thanks

  Hi there,

  Not all our themes allow you to set a custom background, which is the case with the theme you have on your site now. However, you can choose from these theme which all have a custom site background option: https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/+custom-background

  Also, because you are setting up a new WordPress.com site, this guide may be helpful: https://wordpress.com/learn/
