  How can I edit the meta name=”description” tag on my wordpress.com hosted site? Currently, my blog (Clean Home Theme) displays the beginnings of a post for my site description in search results rather than my actual site description (found in my tagline). Any suggestions? Thanks.

  Unfortunately, you can’t edit meta tags on a WordPress.com blog.

  Thanks. So are you saying that all WordPress.com blogs aren’t described properly by search engines? Is there any functionality to fix this without having to edit meta tags?

  The description handling varies by theme. In most cases, an except of the post is considered the description, which is pretty accurate.
