Blog domain vs. website domain

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello – bear with because I’m clueless on this stuff. 5 years ago I created a blog on wordpress and forgot about it.
Now I’m in the process of creating a website (with someone who knows what they’re talking about) and she asked me to set up a wordpress account with a domain name and somehow I seem to have bought a blog domain name last night (annabernardvoice.com) and now I don’t know how to swap it over? Or if I can’t use that domain name is there a way to get a refund or a credit note?
    many thanks
    Anna

  • Hi there,

First, is annabernardvoice.com the domain URL you wanted, or did you want a different domain name? It is currently connected to the blog you created 5 years ago, annabernardvoice.wordpress.com. If you want to start over so that you can create a site, I can empty annabernardvoice.wordpress.com for you.

It sounds like you may have created a new account and wanted to transfer annabernardvoice.com over to that account? If so, I can help with that as well – I would just need for you to post in this thread under that new account.

But, you can set up the blog site you currently have into a normal website pretty easily. There is no need to create a new site or account, unless you did not want to use annabernardvoice as the domain name.
