Blog email notices.

  I have noticed some of the blogs I am subscribed to don’t come to my email box anymore. They do show up in my reader, but because I don’t go there often, I am missing some favorite blogs. For instance, http://www.vernabowman.com . Please advise on this.

  Hi Glenda,

  The site at http://www.vernabowman.com/ isn’t hosted here at WordPress.com. (You can tell because it doesn’t show the WordPress.com admin bar at the top of the page when you visit the site while logged in to your account, and it doesn’t mention WordPress.com at the bottom of the page in the footer.)

  That means you can keep getting updates from the blog in your Reader, but if you’d like to also get email updates you’ll need to subscribe to those directly on the blog. You can find a “Subscribe to Blog via Email” section in the sidebar on that site.

  If there are any other sites you’re wondering about, you can give me a link and I’ll take a look at them for you, too. :)

  Thank you Rachel. I tried two places to sign up for the blog. The first one said, I’m already a follower. The second one was at the end of her latest blog, using the comment section. I checked send an email notice for new blogs and it took it. Hopefully this will fix the problem.

  Hi Glenda,

  If you’re already following the site via email and not getting the emails, there are a couple other things to check:

  First, please take a look at your notification settings here:

  https://wordpress.com/settings/notifications/

  Please make sure the setting “Block all email updates from blogs you’re following on WordPress.com” is unchecked, to make sure email updates are sent to you. (You can also choose other preferences for email updates on that settings page.)

  Then, please check your email’s spam/junk folder to make sure email updates from blogs you follow aren’t being accidentally marked as spam.
