Blog/first post
-
I created another page, selected blog format. wrote it up, reviewed it, and hit publish. Now I can’t find it. I created a table of contents with the setting to automatically add new posts, but this was after creating the blog…
I have the text and images saved, and can recreate it if that is my best option.
Thank you!

Hi! I can see a page:
https://wordpress.com/pagesDid you mean to create this as a post instead? Also, where would you like it to appear?

I’m not picky…tried to get a table of contents set up, thinking that would allow navigation to the second page. That’s the real question I suppose; how do I make it part of my site? what are my choices?

Hi there,
The concept of pages and blog posts is a bit confusing if this is your first time setting up a WordPress site, so we explain in more detail here for your reference: https://wordpress.com/support/post-vs-page/
In your case, it seems you created your blog post “as a page” which is not normally the correct order of operations. Instead you would create that as a blog post here: https://wordpress.com/posts/opportunisticcook.wordpress.com
And then those posts will populate a page called your “blog feed page” which the dynamic page that shows new posts automatically. In this case you look to have (without realizing) created your blog post as a page, and then set that page to be your “blog feed” page. This has two effects:
1) it hides any content you used to have on that page
2) instead it shows any blog posts you have currently. Since you have none, it shows a blank page instead. To fix this I suggest the following:
1) I moved your page content to a “draft” blog post here: https://wordpress.com/posts/opportunisticcook.wordpress.com
2) if you publish that post it will show up in your blog feed for the site.
3) instead of the page you have set now as a blog feed, I suggest setting up a new page here: https://wordpress.com/customize/opportunisticcook.wordpress.com
4) You can then add your blog page and your homepage to a site menu, so that if someone visits your homepage they can get to your blog (and vice versa)Since steps 3 & 4 are difficult to explain in words, you can follow the steps in the video I shot here at this link: https://d.pr/v/KC9rss
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
