I let my domain (caitlinschulte.com) expire because I fell ill and lost the ambition to write. Now, several years later, I was thinking about my old writings and wanting to read them. Is there a way to read my old writings even though caitlinschulte.com no longer exists? Is there a place in WordPress where they are stored? I do not want to reopen caitlinschulte.com, I simply would like to access the words I wrote.

    Thanks,

    Caitlin

  • Hi there,

The site caitlinschulte.com appears to have been a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site hosted on Bluehost Web Hosting, and not a site hosted on our WordPress.com service.

To clarify, we are not the only providers of WordPress sites, and Bluehost also happens to offer WordPress sites, but they use a different version of the platform than what we use here. Because of this we are not able to help with your issue as it lies outside of our system. We do maintain backups for sites hosted directly with us, but do not have historical data for sites hosted with other providers See http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ for more info.

You may also wish to contact Bluehost’s support team for more assistance, to see if they have any backups of your account on their end.

Hope that points you in the right direction!
