Blog redirect

  • Unknown's avatar

I lost my WordPress blog when I transferred my site and unknowingly also transferred my blog. I need to disconnect my blog from my site so that I can redirect it to my WordPress blog again. How do I disconnect what has been done and reset it up so that I am able to see my WordPress blog and not my store?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That is not correct. The blog that I need help with is blog.simplynovel.com. I don’t know why that was automatically added.

  • Hi there,

I need to disconnect my blog from my site

A blog is a website, not something separate from it. “blog” just refers to a type of website that uses dynamic content, a.k.a. posts, instead of static content/pages.

You can have a site that has both blog posts and static pages, but it will still be just one site.

That said, the site at https://blog.simplynovel.com/ is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress software, made by the community on WordPress.org, at another host.

Without knowing exactly what you transferred and how, it’s impossible to advise you, besides the fact that we can’t really help at all for sites not hosted with us on WordPress.com, as we don’t have any control over your site. You are able to manage your site through your WordPress.com account because you have it connected here using the Jetpack plugin. But your site’s files are not on our servers, and your domain is not registered with us, so we have no control over how your site works.

Please contact your hosting provider for help with this, or else you can try asking for advice in the forums for the WordPress software you’re using at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
