Blog transfer gone wrong
-
I lost my blog. :-) I was trying to transfer melindablogs.wordpress.com to my new self-hosted WordPress account, and I have nothing. It didn’t transfer to my new account under melindablogs.com. Maybe the problem is I sent it to my username which is Melinda, instead of my email address. Or maybe I should have just imported everything, but now I don’t have any control over the blog and I don’t know who does or where it is! Can you fix this? ;-) Note, I couldn’t input in the link of the blog I’m asking about under “Blog URL” so I have one of my other blogs instead. I hope that doesn’t confuse you, because that is http://healthywittyandwhole.com is NOT the blog I’m asking about, see above! :-)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

And just to make things clear, the blog I need help with is http://melindablogs.wordpress.com NOT http://healthywittyandwhole.com I accidentally lost the ownership to melindablogs.wordpress.com as I explained above and I need help recovering it. Thanks!

Hi there,
Don’t worry, your blog melindablogs.wordpress.com is safe! I just returned it to your username aboundinginhope, so you will see it back in your account here at WordPress.com.
Transferring a blog like that only works when you want to transfer it to another WordPress.com user. WordPress.com isn’t connected to self-hosted WordPress.org blogs and accounts, so you can’t transfer a blog to WordPress.org that way.
To move your blog from WordPress.com to WordPress.org, you’ll need to export the content from your WordPress.com blog and then import it over on your self-hosted blog. We have more information about that here:

Please let me know if you have any questions! :)
