Blogger to WordPress Comment Avatars Anonymous

    Used WordPress.com Blogger import tool. Blogs were imported, however the comments all show from Anonymous without a profile image. I think this is a bug as typically the commenters’ profile image would be displayed after importing the content. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hi there,

    Sadly we’re limited here because Blogger uses a completely different commenting system than what we have on WordPress.com, so not all items are compatible. Specifically the Blogger backup .xml file does not contain info that allows us to connect to the profile image and name, so we have no way to import those.

    I wish Blogger would provide a WordPress-specific export file, but unfortunately they only provide a “backup” option intended for restoring your site on the Blogger platform. We are able to reverse-engineer it so we can extract as much as possible, and but the xml file they provide is not created with exporting in mind.
