Blogroll/meta sidebar widgets showing up — how to remove?

  I would like to remove the blogroll and meta widgets from my sidebar. I’ve gone into Appearance/Widgets, and neither show up in my sidebar. I’ve even moved both into the “inactive widgets” box, but they remain on my homepage. Anyone have any idea how to actually remove them?

  I just figured it out; I just added another item to the secondary sidebar, and viola! The widgets are gone.
