Bold and italics no longer show up in both my blog and the post editor?

I’m using the theme Delicacy. I have no problems with any other theme and everything shows up fine but this theme strips bold and italic formatting even when I’m adding a new post, the formatting doesn’t show up.
In my old posts all the italics are stripped (they show up again when changing to another theme) but the bolds are still there (but disappear if you attempt to edit past posts.)
The issue persists across different browsers. The and <b> tags show up fine in html mode but it appears to take no effect at all. The strikeout tag works fine but it turns the text red.
Is this a theme problem where Delicacy doesn’t have support for bold and italics?

i meant the < em> and < strong> tags. they show up fine in html mode in adding a new post.

Delicacy is a premium theme and read-access to the premium themes forum is now open to all users so you can search to see if your question has been previously asked and answered there. The premium theme forums are at http://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/ with separate sections for each theme.If you are not successful when searching there is a link for the specific Premium Theme support forum for your theme under Appearance -> Themes in your blog’s Dashboard, but do note that the premium theme must be active and you must be signed in as the user who purchased it in order to see it and post to it.

What? I’m pretty sure Delicacy is not a premium theme – if it is then I’m somehow using it without having ever paid for anything. It doesn’t have the premium tag.

The weird thing is that the html formatting is fine – so the bold and italics in new posts and old ones show up fine on any other theme, in both the blog and the post editor. But not for this theme which I just switched to a few hours ago.
(If possible when the topic is resolved it would be nice if we could remove my blog link!)

Update: < strong>, while it doesn’t show up in the post editor (my past experience has been that it shows up while you type/edit your post, shows up fine on the blog.
Italics are still completely stripped.
