bold links

  • Unknown's avatar

    When links appear in my posts, they’re bold. (Oddly enough, they’re not bold in my sidebar.) I don’t want them bold (anywhere), but I can’t find any way to change them. Does anyone know?

    Thanks.

    It looks like you have the Custom Design upgrade. This will do it.

    .entry a:link, .entry a:visited, .alert-box a:link, .alert-box a:visited {
    font-weight: normal;
    }

    This may be the default behavior for links there for your theme, Vigilance.

    The only way you can change this behavior is by buying the Custom Design upgrade if you know how to work with CSS.

    ~~@tsp! Thanks for the catch.

    I have the custom design upgrade? I don’t remember buying it. Maybe because I have a custom domain name?

    tsp, I didn’t understand your suggestion. I don’t do html programming. Where do I insert that text? Do I have to do it for every link?

    Thanks.

    Hmmm, it looked like you had the CSS upgrade when I was looking at your source code.

    In that case, you would have to manually modify the link code each time you put a link into a post in the HTML tab, which it sounds like you might not want to do.

    OK, then. Moving right along, who wants coffee?

    It’s worth $30 per year to fix some of the things I hate about Vigilance, namely:
    a. bold links; and
    b. little space between paragraphs.
    But I don’t know how to do much coding. If I get the upgrade, will these changes be easy to do? Is it just a question of inserting code like the stuff you recommended above in a single place?

    (I chose Vigilance because I liked the title and subtitle options and couldn’t find them in any other theme. Now I’m really wed to it because my header was designed around its pixel parameters. But I keep discovering things I can’t stand about it.)

    We can help you with the changes and the custom design upgrade also has staff support as well. a & b would be simple to do (I’ve already given the code to fix “a”.

    It’s still worthwhile having a look at the link I gave to you above to wpbtips. :) And if you choose to go the Custom Design upgrade route, there are a couple people in the forums who will help you out if you have questions.

    OK, I’m doing it! And actually, I just looked through my old complaints/questions about Vigilance, and tsp, you gave me the code to fix the paragraph space issue too. I guess I just didn’t realize this was something simple. I’m going to buy the package and try it.

    You’re right, Jennifer: that tips & tricks page is right.

    Coffee! What are we all doing up so late?

    Thank you both.

    Only 10:43pm where I am out here in the middle of the Pacific. I’ve still got another hour before I head off to bed.

    :-)
