bring thhmi.org and thhmi.com together into one WordPress account relationship

  I want to add a site to my current site relationship. I want to bring thhmi.org and thhmi.com together into one WordPress account relationship. thhmi.org is handled by another vendor and hosted by GoDaddy. I want to bring in thhmi.org to WordPress. when I attempt to do it through your portals, I run into questions that I am not sure how to handle. Is there someone to talk to by telephone?

  I noticed the existing site, thhmi.com, is on a different WordPress.com account. Are you the owner of the other account? If yes, you may access faster help by logging into that account first.

  Merging two sites (If you want a single site with both domains)

  Also, it’s not possible to merge two sites together. Instead, you have several options:

  Content of the sites

  Export content from one site and import it into the other site. So if you want to transfer content from the GoDaddy-hosted site to thhmi.com, you can download an export from that site’s wp-admin → Tools → Export, and follow these instructions to import the site’s content into thhmi.com.

  Domains

  Since you have two domains, once you have a target site (which has all the content), you can add the other domain (thhmi.org) to the same site (thhmi.com). This way, both domains will load the same site. One of them will be set as the primary address.

  For example, with thhmi.com as the primary address, if you add the thhmi.org domain to this site, it will simply redirect to thhmi.com.

  In the end, you will have one site with both domains on it.

  Having both sites separately under the same WordPress.com account

  If, instead, you actually want both thhmi.com and thhmi.org to remain as separate sites under the same WordPress.com account, the instructions are a little different:

  1. First, log into the other WordPress.com account where you own thhmi.com. This is to ensure you are migrating thhmi.org to the same account.
  2. Once you’re logged in, follow these steps to transfer thhmi.org from GoDaddy to WordPress.com. These steps will transfer the entire GoDaddy-hosted site as-is to your WordPress.com site. You’ll need a separate WordPress.com Business plan, as your current plan only covers the thhmi.com site.
  3. Once everything is done, you’ll have both thhmi.com and thhmi.org sites (with their own WordPress.com plans) on the same WordPress.com account.
