Building a WordPress site for an existing URL

  Hi,
  I’m wondering what the steps are for a situation like this:
  I want to build a newspaper site on WordPress for a small local newspaper. They already have a site and a URL. Since they don’t have a lot of content, there’s no need to migrate content. How would I build the site without using their URL since it’s already in use?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You can start building the site on a free .wordpress.com address and when you’re ready to move you can either map their domain or transfer it here.

  Here’s how to start a website with WordPress.com:

  and here’s how to use a domain you already own:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/all-about-domains/
