Building my first WordPress site, using a purchased theme – where do I start?
-
Wow. Where do I start?
I have an existing website that is hosted on Crazydomains.com.au. I am wanting to replace this website my new website that I will build on WordPress. I haven’t started this yet.
I have just purchased a theme through a theme, http://www.qodethemes.com/, through themeforest.
So my questions?
1. Do I import the theme I bought into wordpress, then customise it with my images, copy, layout, etc, and then once it is finished, do I then migrate it to crazydomains and replace my existing website? OR
Do I import the themes into crazydomains hosting, replacing my existing website with the template and then customise it?2. If I do import the theme into WordPress first, how do I do this? I can’t find Add New in Themes in the Appearance.
Thanks
David

1) You can’t add a third-party theme to a WordPress.COM site like http://monsterplayblog.wordpress.com/. You can add it to a WordPress.ORG site. WP.com blogs can only use the themes available on their dashboard Themes page.
2) You can’t.
So, decide: do you want to pay $120 a year and up for hosting, plus a new domain name, just in order to use that theme, or do you want to get your money back?

Thanks Raincoaster.
Lots to learn for me.
As I have my existing website hosted on crazydomains, it sounds like I can install wordpress on their, replacing my existing website, and then import the themes.
Does this sound right?
