  so I already have hosting paid for at GoDaddy, can I get a site created in WP and then map it to GoDaddy for hosting or do I have to Map it first, then build the site?

  Hi,

  If you already have hosting through GoDaddy, you would want to set up a WordPress site through them using the open source software available at WordPress.org. The GoDaddy support team should be able to assist you, but this doc would also be a good place to start:
