  How can I build a new pages on wordpress while keeping my current site up with another provider? I’d like to take a couple of months to build this new site before switching anything live. Can this be done?

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  You certainly can get your site set up here before switching your domain over!

  When you sign up for a new site, we give you a free subdomain (*.wordpress.com) that you can use to start building your new site.

  Here’s a guide that will help you migrate your site to WordPress.com:
