  Hi, im a start up that works with local entrepreneurs to set up their websites, I’ve always used weebly ( don’t hate me) now at least every second person that I connect with wants a website done in wordpress. the setup of weebly is pretty straight forward, i get a designer account, i design websites for people. does wordpress have something similar? how can i get a business licence, i’ve called other more established website design businesses and they (the sales people) don’t even know how that is setuo, they know that they click a button and they can start building. your feedback will be most appreciate it. and once again dont hate me cause i chose weebly haha now that i know that wordpress does a way better job, now I can learn how to build and move forward. thank you for your time.   Hi there,

  We don’t have such a thing as a developer/designer account on WordPress.com, as WordPress.com is designed for people with no coding knowledge to be able to help themselves. That said, nothing prevents you from using it to make sites for others.

  Just keep in mind that WordPress.com sites belong to the username who creates them, and upgrades belong to the username who purchase them. So if you create a site with your account, you are the owner, no matter who pays for or uses the site. Both site ownership and upgrade ownership can be transferred to another user at any time.

  If you set up sites for other people, just sort it out with them whether your username or theirs will create the site/purchase upgrades, will you do it and transfer ownership to them afterwards, will you create it and stay the “owner” from our point of view, making you responsible for payments, etc. That’s between you and your customers.

  If you remain the owner, make sure that your customers understand that means we’ll only be able to communicate with you regarding certain support issues, so they’ll need to go to you for support, not us.
