Business Plan
-
Hi, I was looking at your business plan and I was wondering what the difference was for developing with the business plan compared to development on a local server with WordPress (open source edition) as a CMS?
Thanks

Hi Jono,
We have some information where you can compare differences between the Business plan and a WordPress.org site here:
I would say developing and maintaining a site using WordPress.org software tends to be more hands on. You would be responsible for hosting, security and maintenance whereas we take care of that on WordPress.com.
WordPress.org would give you more control over code and you could build a custom theme using PHP and CSS if you wanted to. However, you can install third party WordPress themes on the Business plan, so you aren’t just limited to those in our theme showcase.
Both options support the use of plugins to add extra functionality so that is perhaps not something that would need to be a deciding factor. One thing the Business does include though, is priority email and Live Chat support — which is very handy if you need advice about getting started, customising your site etc.
I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have.
