  Seems like a nightmare. Every step is a struggle. I bought a domain through GoDaddy and their Managed WordPress option. I am trying to work with the Echo Knowledge Base Plug in. Have been working on just getting it working off and on for weeks now. Today I read this: ‘Will Echo Knowledge Base and its add-ons work with WordPress.com?
  Yes. However, you must have a Business plan with WordPress.com, which supports third-party plugins. If you do not have a Business plan, Echo Knowledge Base and its extensions cannot be used.’ Have I just wasted all my time? Do I have to start this all over again and register with WordPress.com?

  But it sounds like your site is hosted by GoDaddy, not WordPress.com and if you are using “Managed WordPress option”, which I take to mean the WordPress.org software, then plugins are supported.
  PS: I’m sure that particular plugin will have its own support options.
