Button usage
-
I have buttons in the ‘newcomers’ page that I want to alternate pages on the website(that people aren’t able to access unless clicking the button). For example, clicking ‘Ben’ takes you to a page not listed anywhere else on the website.

Hi there,
By default, when you create a new page it is not added to your main site menu (in the header) automatically.
To use your example, if you were to create a page called “Ben” and link it to the button also labelled “Ben” that would be the only way to access that page. E.G. there would not be another place that a link to that page would appear unless you were to manually add the page link in other places on your site.
One thing to be aware of is that your sitemap is shared with major search engines, which is one thing that gives WordPress.com excellent Search Engine Optimization (SEO) out of the box. This does mean that the page would still be visible to search engines so it’s not totally private.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
