calendar issues

I have been struggling to embed one of my google calendars into my new site that I set up yesterday– which I am still working on and then will grab a real domain name — I reviewed the instructions multiple times but it just shows up as the google embed address as a post and then also when I attempt to put it into a text widget with the shortcut it still just publishes that shortcut rather than the calendar– what I want to have is a calendar on the sidebar but one that I can imput information- but there doesn’t seem to be any instructions for the calandar widget– is it just a calandar rather than one that we can add info on? That would have been my preference over a google one because aestheticly, yours looks so much nicer… please help (email visible only to moderators and staff) (email visible only to moderators and staff)

For the widget, start a new post and embed the calendar in that new post following the guide at http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-calendar/
Once you save the new post as a draft, it will be converted into a shortcode which you can then use in a Text widget. You can then safely delete the draft post.
