Can a wix site be transferred into a WordPress site?
-
A site was created on wix by a ‘professional’. Owner is not happy with wix and wants to create the site on WordPress. Is it transferable?

Hi there.
Yes we can work with that, we have a tool on our end to import the contents of your Wix site. More info here: https://wordpress.com/support/import/import-from-wix/
Note that importing your wix content does not bring over the design or theme of the site (our system is too different to be able to work with that code) but we do grab your pages, blog posts, and uploaded media so that you have all those contents here and ready to go when you set your site up on WordPress.
Additionally, importing your site contents will not move the current site URL or change what you have on Wix in any way, so you can import without fear, and then take your time in getting set up on this end. When you are ready, let us know and we can walk you through the process of moving your domain (if you are using a custom address and not a wix.com URL) so you can “launch” the new site to replace the old one seamlessly.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
