Can an old thread be edited?

  I’ve been feeling guilty about an old question that I posted (I posted two of the same questions) and I don’t want to hurt the person who I mentioned in the thread. Can that thread be deleted, or can the links from the threads I’m talking which mention another user be removed? Thanks.
