Can anybody help me set up and sort out com/org confusion?
-
Having tried to build my own blog through wordpress.org, I now want to use a normal wordpress.com account but link it to a domain I own: amy-sherman.com . The problem is that it says I need a SLQ database, but I was under the impression that was only needed for a wordpress.org website, rather than a normal wordpress site. Can ANYONE help me so I can just get started on this long overdue blog!
Thanks,

Hi Amy. You are right: you don’t need to handle SQL databases when your blog is hosted by WordPress.com. Where did you get your information?
If you already have a domain name and want to use it as the address of your WordPress.com blog, here are the instructions:

Thanks for the help. Before I do this, will I need to cancel the existing Streamline hosting I’ve stupidly been paying for, before I can map it?

If you buy domain mapping, your site will be hosted by WordPress.com already. You don’t need to make any further arrangements to host the same blog elsewhere.
