Can followers sign up to get emails only about posts in certain categories?

  Can followers specify if they only want to sign up for email notifications of posts that are tagged with a particular category?

  My blog has 20 different categories, and each post is tagged with one of those 20 categories. Is it possible for followers to choose to receive email notifications only about posts within the category or categories they choose?

  There isn’t really a solution within WordPress.com for email subscriptions to a specific category.

  The closest is that someone could subscribe to a Category’s RSS feed using some sort of an RSS reader. This blog post has some information on that:
