Can I apply for a new account for an account that has been cancelled?

When you close an account, after 30 days everything gets purged from our servers and the username gets locked for ever.
It’s possible to reuse an email address, “When you delete your account, your email address remains in our system for 30 days. This means that you cannot use your account’s email address to sign up for a new WordPress.com account. Once the 30 days have passed and your account is purged, your email will be free to use with a new account.”
