Can I block the content so it is not public but still keep the account?

  I do not want to cancel my blog but want to make the content non-public while I re-due things. Is that possible?

  Set the blog to Private on the Settings->Reading page. Note that when you set it to public again, it will take LONGER to get indexed on search engines than a brand new blog would.
