Can I buy/transfer another member's WordPress.com subdomain?

  Can I buy a WordPress.com subdomain from another member? I would like to use bulwark.wordpress.com but it appears to have already been created in 2006. No posts were ever published. It appears that these subdomains are not recoverable once deleted. This one remains live and not active. Can it be transferred or purchased?

  Yes, if it has not been deleted and you can get in touch with the owner via your own efforts. No if it has been deleted. No if you cannot get in touch with the owner.
