Can I change my wordpress.com to a wordpress.org?

  Being new to wordpress, I mistakenly paid for a wordpress.com domain, when I actually need a wordpress.org domain. I need to have the flexibility with the plug ins that wordpress.org provides. Can I change the payment to wordpress.org or a hosting site, or cancel this order all together? Let me know.

  Canceling is not a good idea. Canceling a domain runs the very real risk of not being able to register it again.

  You can point the domain you registered at WordPress.com to another server (hosting service), with these steps:

  Change a Domain’s Name Servers

  You’ll need to obtain the name server values from your current host. You should be able to find them on their support documentation, or contact them and ask for the information. (Name servers may be referred as “nameservers” or “NS records” instead.)
