Can I claim a blog name that is already in use, but has been inactive for years?

  I’m not really experiencing a problem because this blog software is so awesome, thanks! But I do have a question, I am interested in creating a blog with the name Everday Nature at Everydaynature.wordpress.com, but someone has already used this domain, but when I checked their blog they hadn’t updated it for three years and so I was wondering if you or I could verify that it is no longer inactive and if it isn’t if I could take the URL and name?

  there is no requirement that a blog be used – WordPress.COM will not take a blog away from someone just because they have not used it in a while – you can leave a comment on the blog asking if the owner would transfer the blog to you – they don’t need to respond to you however

  You can’t take it without the permission of the original blogger. You can comment and ask them in case that goes to their email.
