Can I delete my old wordpress domain without losing my linked blog?

  Hi there

  When I first started blogging, I made a free WordPress blog at kissandmakeupsbeautyblog.wordpress.com. After a while I bought my own domain name so that the ‘wordpress’ part would be dropped, leaving me with kissandmakeupsbeautyblog.com.

  Then after a while I decided to start self-hosting my website, so I moved my domain kissandmakeupsbeautyblog.com from wordpress.com to a paid host, now using wordpress.org software.

  Today someone told me that when they go to http://www.kissandmakeupsbeautyblog.com they get a message that the domain expired and that they only see articles dating back to March. In other words, for some reason they are being redirected to my old kissandmakeupsbeautyblog.wordpress.com website. I had no idea this was still happening.

  I was wondering that, in order to avoid that, I can just delete my old wordpress.com website. Or will that affect my self-hosted blog that’s linked to it?

  Hi there!

  Sorry about that. There was a domain mapping left on the account, which I promptly removed. You should no longer be seeing that when you visit: kissandmakeupsbeautyblog.wordpress.com.

  If you do, can you please try clearing out your cache and cookies using the guide below?
