Can I delete my WordPress.com account.
-
Hi
When I first came to set up my blog in 2017 I originally did so on WordPress.com. I then switched over to WordPress.org and went self hosted. However, when I am using the WordPress app and following blogs or using reader, when they search my URL the old WordPress.com site comes up, not the .org. Therefore they can not follow my active site on the app via reader.
How do I fix this please. Am I safe to just delete the old inactive WordPress.com or will that have an impact on my WordPress.org site? -
Hi there,
I do not see any sites under your @info452761402 WordPress.com account when I check on our end. You can confirm by visiting this page: https://wordpress.com/sites.
Is it possible you created your site under a different login? What is the URL of the site you are wanting to delete?
Happy to check in our system so we can take a closer look.

I don’t think I actually ever set up a site under the .com profile but when people are searching for my url http://www.mynameisbethanne.com on reader it is directed them to my old profile at .com so they aren’t able to follow me on my actual blog.
Does that make sense at all?
I can see there is an option on WordPress.com to delete all sites but I’m scared to do this in case it impacts on my wordpress.org site.
It feels so complicated but I’m sure that it isn’t?

Have you added the URL here?
https://wordpress.com/following/manageIf so, and that isn’t working, please get a screenshot and upload it to a site like snippboard.io (or to your own site) then link us to the image here.
Please also copy the URL of the reader page that you’re on, and share that as well.
