Can I duplicate my blogsite?
-
I am creating a blog site for a client and want to show two variations. I know that I can change the theme and customize to a new theme, but I’d like to have both active for the person to preview. Do I have to do it all from scratch to have the both live at the same time? So can I duplicate the site and change one of them to a new theme?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
To have both variations set up at the same time, you’ll need to create a new blog for the second variation. (You can do that from your My Blogs page by clicking the Create Another Blog button there.)
However, you won’t have to start completely from scratch. You can Export the content of the first blog (including the posts, pages, and uploaded media) and Import it in the new blog. Then you can choose the new theme and set it up with the widgets and other elements you want on the blog.
Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)

Clarification on purchasing upgrades like design and unlimited themes. Are they per blog or per user? So if I duplicate my blog, then move it to another blog, I have to pay again for a new theme or unlimited themes?

Hi there,
All WordPress.com upgrades are per blog (not per user), so you’ll need to buy them again to use them on another blog. However, you can get a two-week free trial of most upgrades (like custom design and unlimited premium themes). If you’re only setting up the second blog temporarily to show your client, the free trial may be all you need for that.
