Can I export my media gallery and keep the captions?

    Hello,
I would like to make a book of my blog and have looked at both FastPencil and Blog2Print. I have been able to easily transfer the posts but not the pages. When I set up the blog, I put a photo gallery in a separate page to not inundate readers with many pictures. Ideally, I would like to include the pictures in the book. Is there a way to export a gallery and keep the captions? Is there a way to move a gallery within the blog? For example, can I move a gallery from the page back into a post without recreating the gallery? I did export all my pages into .xml but was disappointed that the photos in the gallery on those pages did not show up. Any suggestions you have would be much appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hi Megan,

If blog-to-book services like FastPencil and Blog2Print aren’t working for your blog’s pages, your next best option might be printing each of those pages as PDF files from your web browser or saving them as HTML files. You’d need to do print or save each page separately to do that. (There isn’t a way to move a gallery from a page to a post without recreating it in the post.)

I did export all my pages into .xml but was disappointed that the photos in the gallery on those pages did not show up.

Exporting your blog is meant to move the blog from one website host to another, so the XML export file doesn’t actually include the image files in it. The images would show up after importing the XML file to another website host, but those export files aren’t meant to be used to make a book or offline version of your blog.

Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that.
