I have not dealt with Norton since a threw their junk Anti-Virus off my PC – but the last time (way back) the company was just looking for the start of your site (they did not want a sub-directory) which would be http://rachelsemancipation.wordpress.com/ – you don’t have access to any of the files to prove ownership of the site (some places want you to place a html file in the root directory to prove you have access to the site) but I can’t see why Norton would need you to prove ownership just to Whitelist your site – seems to me I did a search on my site then when the “?” came up after my site name I just clicked on the whatever that said check the site to see if it was OK. Took a couple of weeks before they crawled my site and the “?” turned to some green OK thing.

I’m with you on that I also dumped Norton.@rachelsemancipation
I answered this question in the first thread you posted. We do not have access to the root files only WordPress.ORG bloggers do. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/root-folder?replies=5#post-688404
