Can I have more than one wordpress account per email address?

  I have a wordpress account associated with my business and I wanted to set up another one (different focus/different clientelle), but I want any correspondence or emails to go to my work email address. But when I try to set up the second site, it tells me that that email address is already used and I can’t use it.

  Am I only allowed to have one WordPress account per email? Does this mean if I want a second business wordpress account, I have to set up an email account just for it? Seems a little cumbersome.

  Hi Kerry-

  More than one site, yes. More than one account, no.

  Your email address is your unique identifier. https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-settings/

  So for another account, you would need a different email address. It may be cumbersome but it is necessary.

  Also note that if you set up a site for someone else using your email account, as far as WordPress.com is concerned, you are the site owner. Given the number of upset business owners who post here in these forums about being shut out of the WPcom site that was set up for them by a 3rd party, this can sometimes get prickly. You may want to consider using your client’s email address to set up the site and then add yourself as an Admin.
