Can I have someone else's old domain name?

  When creating the account, the wordpress domain I wanted was “already taken”. I have checked, and the account has been deleted by its former authors. Is it possible to reclaim the account name and use it for a new account?

  No, it is not. Blog names/addresses are never recycled. Please see this Support doc for clarity. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
