Can I import blog posts in CSV format ?

  I have a mySQL database dump from my old blog platform and would like to import the posts into WordPress.com. Is this possible ?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi Patrick,

  It isn’t possible to import a mySQL database directly into a WordPress.com blog. You’ll need to first convert that to one of the import formats the WordPress.com importer can accept.

  For example, some folks will install the self-hosted version of WordPress locally on their computer first and import everything there. Then, you can use the export tool built into WordPress to create a WordPress XML export file, which can then be imported here at WordPress.com. (If you decide to go that route, the WordPress.org forums can provide more help for working with the self-hosted version of WordPress.)
