Can I recreate a website I deleted?

  Hello there,
  I have gotten myself into a bit of pickle. Basically, I accidentally created two of the same blogs with slightly addresses: mycoldfluaway.wordpress.com and thecoldfluaway.wordpress.com. Upon noticing that I created two, I deleted “thecoldfluaway” blog, not realizing my boss had already sent that address out in a broadcast to all of our customers. So you see my dilemma. I tried to recreate the site from scratch again, but it said that the name “thecoldfluaway” already exists, even though I deleted it. Is there anything I can do to get that address back? Do I just need to wait 24 hours, or is it gone forever?

  Hi Alexis,

  Once a blog is deleted, that blog address can’t ever be used again by anyone (including you). We aren’t able to restore deleted blogs or free up deleted blog addresses after a blog is deleted. We display warnings about that before you delete the blog, and we have additional information about it here: Delete Site

  Since you still have the blog at mycoldfluaway.wordpress.com, I’d recommend continuing to use that address. You can notify your customers that it’s the correct address for your blog. I bet that pretty soon everyone will have the right address and you’ll be all set using that blog. :) Please let me know if I can provide any further help with that!
