Can I reformat the [new post] email subject line for followers?
-
Hello! The email new post notifications show [new post] title of post in the email subject line. I’m wondering if there is a way to remove the [new post] part of the subject line — perhaps via an upgrade? But which one? I can’t find the information online. I subscribe to Seth Godin’s blog and his subject lines look beautiful — they show ‘Seth’s blog: title of post.’ I would like to reformat mine that way. Thank you!

Hi there,
The
[New Post]portion of subscribers emails is automated, and cannot be customized. There is not an upgrade you can purchase on this end that will allow you to remove that. However, you can if you wish use an outside email marketing service like MailChimp to update followers. To do that you will need to offer a Mailchimp signup on your site. You can do that by following the steps here: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/mailchimp-block/
And then you can set up Mailchimp to regularly send out emails of new activity from your site: https://mailchimp.com/help/share-your-blog-posts-with-mailchimp/
I’m not sure what Seth Godin uses (it may be something similar to this) but by managing your site updates via Mailchimp, you would have complete control over the title and design of your emails.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
